Our Little Family

August

Guess what? I have NO pictures of August except pretty much the ranch. AND I don't even have all my sisters copies, which is on purpose, because I don't want to go through those to post too :) Briggs was soooo sick this entire week with a fever of 102-104 that would not break. Sorry to Britt and her fam that slept right by us, since basically we didn't sleep. So, I mostly just have pictures of my family and whatever Adam took up at the lake. Speaking of the lake- there was a lot of time spent up there this year. It was fun. Adison was thrilled to see her fish Glubby had grown a little bit since last year. Another fun memory that I'm sad I didn't get a picture of is we stayed in the small house with Britt's fam. All three of the girls slept in one room on the bunk beds. They had so much fun. When I wasn't taking care of a sad sicky sad babe, I enjoyed time with everyone, and a couple good ranch runs. I love to run up there. (I mean really as much as I ever love to run.) I even herded some loose cattle one day!

Horrible attempt at a family shot.

On her beloved Tano. She calls every horse Tano (Montano) and if somebody calls it something else wherever we are, she is not a happy girl.

Saddest boy ever. He did love to be outside though. AND guess what? He really started scotting around everywhere this month. He can get to anything his little heart desires. He also really LOVES baths and is so wiggly. He was such a champ, even though he had the worst ear infection.

Adi always had to sit next to gramma stewart. She sure loves her!

We had lots of activities this year. They included tye dye shirts, decorating ducks and ducky race, duct tape flip flops (sadly I have no pictures), and a water afternoon. AND grammy made all of the kids special bean bags that they loved. It must be said that the weather this year was perfect! Not hot, not cold, the bugs were ok, it was lovely!

I was in charge of the ducky race, so I forgot to get actual pictures of them floating down the creek. Uncle Brent was the official judge.

Adi had us take pictures of all the horses so she could remember them. Thanks to all my family who helped us this week. I can't believe I don't have pics of all the sisters. I know Camie does, we did go on a sibling horse ride. We didn't plan it, it just worked out that all five of us went together, I don't think we've done that for over a decade. (If ever really) Thanks Uncle Brent, Aunt Michelle and Grandma! We LOVE the ranch!

Ok. I did take pictures of one more thing. I got a crazy idea that we needed to go see Little Mermaid at the Tuacahn. I bought the tickets, and we left a couple days later. It had to be a fast trip, because Adam couldn't miss his rotations. We left Monday morning, dropped Briggsers off at Camie's (bless her) and me, Adam, and Adison were off. We had a great time. We visited Adam's grandpa in Gunlock. (What was I thinking no pictures), shopped a little, let Adi choose where she wanted to eat dinner (Cafe Rio, that's my girl, thank you very much) and went to the play. Now, it didn't start until 9pm. But Adi's a late nighter and she had a nap so we thought she'd be fine. The play was fantastic. We were really close and some parts were really loud, but she only freaked out once and made me take her out. She wore her earplugs almost the whole time, she could still hear, just not as loud. It was SO hot. I don't think we have ever sweat like that. It didn't help that she wanted to sit on us. She fell asleep right before the end (the scary part with Ursula) and asked me to wake her up for the wedding. So I did. Then as we were leaving a couple people jumped in line, and we found out it was to meet Ariel. She wanted to, so we did. It was after midnight at this point. She really was a trooper. We got up at 6 the next morning and drove home. Fun memory!

July

Really I just photographed some of the main events of the month. Probably boring for most people, again, just for me to remember. For the fourth of July weekend on Saturday we went and watched the stadium of fire fireworks on the field we always go to with Adam's family. This year we invited my family, and it was a lot of fun!

On the actual 4th we got our kids up early and went with most of my family and hiked the Y. Adison rode in a backpack that she was too big for, and I carried Briggs. I look horrendous- I was really sweaty :) It was hard and fun. I've never done it, and I've lived her my whole life. Then it was onto the Provo parade with Adam's fam, and over to his parents for a laid back night.

During American Fork Steel Days we went to the carnival for like a half hour one night and me and Adi rode the carousel. It also happened to be cow appreciation day at our local chic fil a. Adi heard us mention it and she was insistent on wearing her cow costume from last Halloween so she could get a free kids meal. She loves that costume.

For the 24th we went to the awesome Fiesta Days Rodeo in Spanish Fork with Camie's family, and my parents. It poured the whole time. Luckily we threw our ponchos in the car, which Adi hilariously kept calling nachos. We also had umbrellas. Adam the great kept Briggs under a blanket the whole time we were there without shielding himself at all. We stayed probably 3/4 of the rodeo. I was pretty proud of us, especially Adison. We are trying to create memories people! The only picture taken.

One of the funniest things that happened this month was with Adi. Adam decided to trade in the jeep. He is starting his rotation year, which means he could be driving all over the place. The gas mileage on the jeep isn't so great. So, we told Adi we had to go to Salt Lake to pick up our new car. She was all excited. It occurred to me that she didn't realize we were not going to have the jeep anymore. So I told her. Oh my is all I can say. Meltdown of EPIC proportions. Not just for a few minutes. For like an hour straight. Then on and off for about three weeks. I'm not joking. What made it worse was before Adam decided that we were going to trade it in, we just thought that I would drive the jeep and he could drive the car. So when Adison would ask all the time to ride in it I told her that pretty soon we would drive it all the time. She reminded me of that statement multiple times. We tried to calm her down telling her that she could take some pictures of her beloved jeep and she could have them to always remember it. Don't let this smile fool you, she cried the entire way up to Salt Lake AND home. 

And last of all my kids and their blankets. It's sort of ridiculous and a little adorable.

Deserving of its very own post

I didn't think I should lump this into one of the monthly posts. They are just too cute, and really deserve a lot of attention! Here is our Briggsers at FIVE months.

Have you ever seen a sweeter face? I didn't think so! I see a lot of that sweet face everyday, but let's be honest I'm dealing with this a lot too...

Grossed out? Sorry. My blog, my memories! 

I really really really feel like we had a turning point with Briggs at about 4 1/2 months. His acid reflux was under control, he started sleeping better, and just generally was a happier baby. He still hates to be alone, and as you can see he started rolling, and puts everything in his mouth. We love this guy!

June

This is my pathetic attempt to catch up. I thought about just scratching the last 6 months and starting from now, but that really is most of Briggs' life. Sooo, I had this brilliant idea this morning laying in bed, that I can do a month by month post to catch up. Mostly so I can remember the happenings during that time! Here goes.

This boy had his 4 month check up. 

Weight: 13 lbs (7 %) Height: 24.5 inches (23%) And here is where he spends a lot of his time lately. He really likes to see me at all times!

We took a trip to Las Vegas in the beginning of June. Sadly I didn't take many pictures. We stayed with Britt's family for a few days, then Ty's. Here is some pics of the girls with Ali and Ju Ju's new desert tortoises. Sadly, the next week this is the only memory anybody has of these cute turtles, because Princess Barbie bit the dust, and Baby Tarma escaped her habitat. BUT, these girls sure had a fun time with them.

We came home and the next day Adam's brother Jeremy married Andie. Hooray! It was a really small ceremony with family going to lunch after.

A lot of this month was spent trying to start exercise. Enter the BOB. My solution. We started our route up around the temple again. Oh it felt good to get outside and run again. I mean really I hate it, but feel good after it's done. The kids LOVE it. We see so many animals. It was still really chilly in the morning so we had to bundle them up.

And lastly Briggs started solids at the beginning of June. Don't worry, he liked them very soon!
